Features: The son of Liu Shuying, a prominent figure in Yangzhou's salt industry, Liu Pingshan was a man of great ambition, advocating for saving the nation through strength. His classmate and close friend Zhu Boquan believed that revolution was necessary to save the country. While Liu Pingshan was working to establish a factory, Zhu Boquan was arrested and imprisoned for assassinating a high-ranking official of the Qing court. After the success of the Xinhai Revolution, Zhu Boquan retired and became a lawyer. Liu Pingshan invested heavily in establishing what was then the only mine car factory in China, hiring the German-trained Cheng Tieлинг as the chief engineer. The factory grew from nothing to something, overcoming countless difficulties, all thanks to Cheng Tieлинг and his wife Qiang Ruonan, as well as skilled craftsmen like Gao Tiejiang, who overcame technical challenges and allowed the factory to limp forward. Twenty years later, the mine car factory had expanded into a massive locomotive and rolling stock plant, and the Shanghe Bay area where the factory was located had become a bustling town. During the time of Japan's invasion of China, Japanese planes rained bombs, reducing the world-renowned factory to a wasteland overnight.
