Comrade Huang Zhenglin has long been dedicated to the study of the social and economic history of the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region, publishing more than 20 papers. Solid research materials are a characteristic of Zhenglin's work. Knowledge comes from diligence. As far as I know, he has visited Beijing, Xi'an, Yan'an, and local publishers, bookstores, libraries, and archives multiple times to purchase, review, and photocopy materials. He even spent considerable sums to acquire photocopied editions of periodicals published during the Border Region period, spending several years to collect a large amount of historical materials on the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region, laying a solid foundation for his research. Rigorous scholars always use comprehensive materials as the cornerstone of their writing, which is the fundamental attitude of scholarship. Comrade Zhenglin has put in great effort in gathering materials, so his research has expanded in scope and depth, with substantial and powerful articles. Such a research methodology deserves praise. The book mainly introduces the economic policies and legislation of the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region during the Anti-Japanese War, as well as the research content on the rural economy of the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region during that period.
