Publishing Date: 2005-10-01
Features: The "Kangxi Dictionary," compiled in 1716, contains 47,042 characters and is a comprehensive masterpiece of character dictionaries throughout history, meeting the basic needs of readers for reference when reading and researching classical literature. This dictionary is based on the corrected version of the "Kangxi Dictionary" by Wang Yinzhi during the Daoguang era, with reference to other editions, and is newly published in horizontal layout. The entire book is punctuated sentence by sentence, primarily using commas, periods, colons, book titles, etc. For the convenience of readers, Pinyin and diacritical marks are added after the original annotation of fǎnqiè (traditional pronunciation) and zhíyīn (direct pronunciation). The original book did not include seal script characters, but now, according to Xu Xuan's corrected edition of the "Shuowen Jiezi," standardized small seal script is appended after the main characters. At the end of the book, a newly compiled four-corner code index is included, covering all character heads from the main text, supplements, and appendices of the original book for easy retrieval.
