Features: "The great men of antiquity, who achieved remarkable success, not only possessed extraordinary talent but also unwavering perseverance." This is a famous quote by the Northern Song Dynasty litterateur Su Shi. The essence of its meaning boils down to a single word—"diligence." In fact, every person who pursues their ideals understands the principle of diligence, but not everyone can persist in putting it into practice. What truly constitutes diligence? Is it "studying until the lights of the third watch and the rooster crowing at the fifth"? Is it "with enough effort, an iron pestle can be ground into a needle"? Is it "reading ten thousand books and traveling ten thousand roads"? Or is it "knowing the difficulty of learning, relying on diligence in every small step"? Looking back at the history of the Chinese nation, the success stories of countless philosophers and sages serve as excellent examples of diligent learning. This book selects nearly one hundred stories of famous figures' diligent pursuit of knowledge, accompanied by appropriate inspirational texts, hoping that every reader will benefit from it.
Kids, if you read this book carefully, you will discover that learning requires long-term persistence and accumulation. It is the accumulation of small efforts that builds the brilliant lives of successful people. People use diligence as a ladder to climb higher and see farther, only then can they overlook all the mountains. Those who observe the scenery with a telescope will never reach the top of the world. People use initiative as oars to navigate the waves and storms, only then can they cross the vast ocean. Those who drift with lifebuoys will never see the grandeur of the sea.
