Financial informatization is a practical necessity for promoting the sustainable development of the national economy and addressing the challenges of joining the WTO. Electronic payment and online banking hold a pivotal position in financial informatization and e-commerce. Electronic payment and online banking is a new interdisciplinary course, and currently, there is a lack of suitable textbooks. The objective of this textbook is to: through theoretical research on electronic payment, provide a framework for the structure of electronic payment systems, and by studying the development history and key technologies of electronic payments domestically and internationally, familiarize and master the system architecture and cutting-edge trends of electronic payment and online banking. The book is divided into 8 chapters. Chapter 1 primarily elaborates on the concept of payment from the perspectives of money, banks, and central banks, analyzes and explains the development and historical evolution of payment instruments, and particularly introduces electronic money as a new payment instrument. Chapter 2 dissects the composition of payment systems, analyzing the functions of each element that constitutes a payment system, as well as the classification and operational principles of payment systems, and examines some typical systems. Credit cards and online banking, as widely used payment instruments and financial innovation products of the contemporary era, are introduced in subsequent chapters. The final chapters discuss security strategies and risk prevention, as well as issues related to central bank regulation, monetary policy, and the legal foundation.
