Features: Yuanqu and classical Chinese are, like Tang and Song poetry and ci, essence of ancient Chinese literature. Yuanqu is sharp and distinctive, suitable for both the vulgar and the elegant; classical Chinese encompasses various styles. They are lyrically beautiful, eloquent, profound in meaning, and melodious, having been beloved by people throughout history. In ancient times, children were taught basic knowledge, and scholars embarked on their studies by emphasizing the recitation of literature. This is because recitation allows one to fully experience the emotions and rhythms, as well as the essence of the texts, and to deeper appreciate their meanings. Practice has proven that reciting classical Chinese poetry and prose is an effective way to learn traditional culture. Today, in the construction of socialist spiritual civilization, organizing recitation activities of ancient literary masterpieces is beneficial for enhancing people's cultural heritage, fostering a civilized and harmonious social atmosphere, promoting social integrity, and cultivating people's moral sentiments. For this purpose, we have adapted and published "Famous Artists' Paintings & Recitation Edition of Classical Chinese Prose (200 Pieces)" based on our previous works "Qu and Painting: 300 Yuanqu Pieces" and "Literature and Painting: 200 Classical Chinese Pieces." These new works complement our earlier published "Famous Artists' Paintings & Recitation Edition of Tang Poetry (300 Pieces)" and "Famous Artists' Paintings & Recitation Edition of Tang and Song Ci (300 Pieces)." To suit readers with moderate cultural backgrounds, we have added pinyin annotations for obscure and difficult-to-read characters, as well as for easily mispronounced polyphonic characters, and have highlighted well-known and memorable lines.
