Is the Down syndrome screening accurate?

Patient's question:

I got married last year. Recently, I've been experiencing lower abdominal pain, especially during my period. I'm very worried it might affect fertility, and I'm also extremely sensitive to cold and coldness. Is the Down syndrome screening accurate?

Doctor's answer:

The Down syndrome test is simple: it involves drawing blood from the pregnant woman, detecting the concentration of alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) and human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) in the maternal serum, and calculating the risk factor for "Down syndrome children" based on the pregnant woman's due date, age, and gestational age at the time of blood collection. This can identify 80% of Down syndrome children.
Vaginal anterior wall prolapse: In this case, the best solution is surgical treatment. This surgery is not major, and it does not cause significant harm to the body—no need to worry. In such cases, the possibility of medication is relatively low.
