Can the placenta possibly change position?

Patient's question:

I am very scared when this happens. I often have lower abdominal pain and don't know how to solve it, so I came here to consult. Could the placenta possibly change position?

Doctor's answer:

Hello, the placenta usually undergoes appropriate positional changes during pregnancy. As long as these changes are within the normal range and all examination indicators are normal, there is no need to worry.
In normal pregnancies, between weeks 18 and 20, most women can start to feel fetal movements. Initially, these movements are relatively mild and occur less frequently, about 3 to 5 times per hour. As the pregnancy progresses, fetal movements become more active, but they tend to decrease in the later stages of pregnancy. Generally, after weeks 28 to 32, fetal movements reach their peak.
