Features: This dictionary includes approximately 2,400 common four-character idioms used by primary school students. In addition to general idioms, it selectively includes a small number of colloquial phrases and new idioms. Each entry consists of the term, Pinyin pronunciation, definition, example sentences, and includes synonyms and antonyms where possible. The main body is arranged in the order of Pinyin letters. If the syllables of the idioms are the same, they are arranged by tone; if both the syllables and tones are the same, they are arranged by the second syllable, and so on. When defining the idioms, the dictionary first explains their original meaning, then provides extended or metaphorical meanings, followed by explanations of difficult words or characters. The traditional first-letter lookup method used in most general idioms dictionaries is increasingly unsatisfactory for readers. Especially when students fill in idioms, if the first character of the idiom is missing, it becomes impossible to find it in a general dictionary. Therefore, this dictionary innovatively introduces a red-character stroke index, allowing readers to quickly locate the corresponding idiom based on the stroke count of any character in the four-character idiom. The primary target audience of this dictionary is primary school students, but it can also be used by general junior high school-level readers and serves as a teaching reference for primary school teachers.
