Patient's question:
After staying in the same room for two or three days, the symptoms appeared. The vaginal discharge was like tofu, and there was heat and pain in the vagina.Doctor's answer:
Candidal vulvovaginitis should be treated promptly upon discovery, and the treatment must be thorough to prevent recurrence. The treatment methods include:1. Actively treat other diseases that can cause candidal vulvovaginitis and eliminate predisposing factors. Maintain external genital hygiene and dryness, and avoid scratching.
2. Use vaginal suppositories for treatment. Commonly used suppositories include nystatin suppositories, Daktarin suppositories, or clotrimazole suppositories. Insert one suppository into the deep vagina each night before bed, and use for 7 consecutive days. Before inserting the medication, you may first rinse the external genitalia and vagina with a 2%–3% soda solution.
3. Topical creams: Apply clotrimazole cream or Daktarin cream externally several times a day and use for 2 weeks.
4. Oral medication: For stubborn cases, fluconazole can be taken orally at a dose of 150 mg once daily for 3 consecutive days. Abstain from sexual intercourse during treatment.
