International Trade Insurance (Second Edition)

Author: Yao Xinchao
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2006-02-01
Features:
Part I, General Theory. The content of this section has been appropriately simplified in this revision. The revised content consists of only two chapters: "Introduction to Insurance" and "Basic Principles of Insurance."
Part II, Marine Insurance. This section primarily involves adjustments to the content related to the previous edition and appropriately adds some knowledge about marine insurance. International trade insurance is closely related to marine insurance. Appropriately increasing relevant content helps in understanding and studying trade insurance.
Part III, International Transportation Cargo Insurance. This section has been revised.
Part IV, Export Credit Insurance. In the previous edition of this book, the content on export credit insurance was very limited. At that time, China did not have a specialized export credit insurance institution, and due to the trade system at the time as well as the small trade volume, the significance and role of this insurance were not prominent. However, in today's international trade, the significance and role of export credit insurance are quite different. Export credit insurance is playing an irreplaceable role in China's foreign trade. Therefore, the author has treated it as a separate part and discussed it in detail.
To make the content of this book more aligned with the actual needs of traders in international trade, the revision of the edition deletes parts of the content that are not closely related to traders. The deleted content includes chapters such as: "The Role of Insurance in Social Reproduction," "Arguments of Western Scholars on the Social or Economic Benefits and Costs of Insurance," "Cargo Insurance," "Marine Freight Insurance," "Other Foreign Economic Insurance," and "Insurance and Liability Insurance."
