Features: This book is divided into 9 parts. Part "Economic Ethics Keeping Pace with the Times: Issues and Norms" first discusses the challenges currently posed to economic ethics by changes in these general conditions, including the premises, models, perspectives, concepts, norms, and reflections on ethical issues specifically related to the times and technological conditions. If the issues discussed in this part are not particularly related to China's national conditions, then the second, third, and fourth parts of this book mainly focus on the general institutional background or macro-level ethical issues related to China's economic ethics problems, especially important ethical issues concerning the improvement of China's socialist market economy system reform, such as economic freedom and social justice, credit, integrity, and property rights. These primarily involve the relationship between economic system reform and political system reform, as well as issues related to common prosperity, farmers' rights, and other problems concerning the primary responsibilities and ethical decision-making of the government.
Parts five to eight of this book mainly discuss how medium-sized public enterprises are gradually becoming the main body of China's market economy. These issues at both levels are increasingly attracting our interest and attention. Therefore, in these four parts, we have more contributions from Chinese and foreign authors proposing and discussing these issues. Particularly, due to financial scandals involving companies like Enron, corporate governance has become a major issue of concern for the international business community and the field of economic ethics in recent years. From the perspective of research trends, this issue will continue to be a key topic in the international field of economic ethics.
The final part of the book, "Economic Ethics and the Pursuit of a Harmonious Society," not only provides recent research findings on this topic but also uses the title to indicate that a harmonious society is the practical goal pursued by our research in economic ethics.
