Features: In the ancient newspaper industry, paper design is becoming a new trend. Even some renowned newspapers with long-standing excellent design are undergoing redesigns. On April 9, 2002, the last bastion of traditional newspapers in Europe and America—the Wall Street Journal—changed its face, which had remained unchanged for 60 years, not only adjusting its layout but also using color on the front page. The reason why newspapers are is that they are currently facing three major challenges: the first comes from the internet and other media such as television, radio, magazines, and multimedia; the second comes from within the newspaper industry itself; and the third comes from the increasingly changing readership market. Therefore, the redesign of newspapers is not merely about changing appearances but about exploring new paths for innovation, which involves the survival and development of the newspaper industry itself in the 21st century.
