Features: The author's successful academic practice once again proves that literature is the foundation of historiography. To study the history of scholarship without engaging with literature is to build a castle in the air—superficial and devoid of substance. History is a discipline that seeks truth and praxis, emphasizing that every word must be grounded and every sentence must have a source, with every statement rooted in evidence and without verification, there is no belief. The inherent characteristics of the discipline dictate that historical research must start from historical materials, rely on solid academic accumulation, proceed with a down-to-earth attitude, and pursue innovation with determination, leaving no room for half-truths or exaggeration. Here, the accumulation refers not only to the personal efforts of historians over years, decades, or even a lifetime but also to the collective labor of generations in the field of historiography. Therefore, in academic practice, we advocate for hard and creative work rather than low-level repetition of what others have said. We believe it is essential to respect the fruits of others' labor and their pioneering spirit. This spirit and these achievements include the accomplishments of master predecessors as well as the contributions of numerous historians of the same generation. This is the academic norm that scholars today are earnestly calling for.
