Features: The Daur people are a minority ethnic group in northern China. Currently, there are approximately 130,000 Daur people, primarily distributed across three provinces and regions: Inner Mongolia, Heilongjiang, and Xinjiang. Among these, the Morin Dawa Daur Autonomous Banner, Ewenki Autonomous Banner, and Meili Daur Autonomous District in Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province, are the main residential areas of the Daur people. In other provinces and cities such as Jilin, Liaoning, Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Shaanxi, Sichuan, Guangxi, and Zhejiang, there are also Daur people with varying populations. This book begins with the rise of the Khitan people during the Tang Dynasty and extends to the founding of the People's Republic of China, primarily introducing the path that China's ethnic groups have taken over more than a thousand years. This book is merely a starting point, hoping that Chinese and foreign experts in historical research can work together, communicate, and exchange ideas, so that the study of the Khitan and their descendants, the Daur people, as well as the research on the "Yunnan Bai people," can be further expanded in the 21st century.
