The statistical data in this atlas primarily adopts figures from "A Brief Atlas of Administrative Divisions of the People's Republic of China," compiled by the Civil Affairs Department of the People's Republic of China and published by China Cartographic Publishing House.
The representation of China's national boundaries in the maps follows the 1:4,000,000 topographic map of the People's Republic of China published by China Cartographic Publishing House in 1989. The provincial, prefectural, and county boundary lines were revised based on the latest 1:5,000 survey data provided by the provincial civil affairs building. Due to the limitations of map scale, significant cartographic generalization was applied when drawing these boundary lines. Therefore, they cannot be used as official boundary references but are only for reference.
