Can you have sex after childbirth?

Patient's question:

I got married last year. Recently, I've been experiencing lower abdominal pain, especially during my period. I'm very worried it might affect fertility, and I also feel extremely cold and afraid of the cold. May I ask if it's okay to have sex postpartum?

Doctor's answer:

Hello, after a cesarean section, it is important to rest in bed. You should eat nutrient-rich and easily digestible foods such as eggs, milk, ribs, chicken, and fish. Avoid washing your head, taking showers, washing your hands, and doing laundry or vegetables with cold water, as cold stimulation can trigger arthritis and leave behind joint and muscle pain in the chilled areas. It is recommended not to use cold water too early. It is okay to eat. Drink more water, rest well, maintain a balanced diet, eat more fresh vegetables and fruits, and supplement various vitamins and trace elements. Avoid spicy foods and focus on early recovery.
