When are the fetal movements usually stronger?

Patient's question:

I got married last year. Recently, I've been experiencing lower abdominal pain, especially around my period days. I'm very worried it might affect fertility, and I'm also extremely sensitive to cold and coldness. When is fetal movement usually the strongest?

Doctor's answer:

Hello: Generally, pregnant women can feel fetal movement around weeks 15 to 20 of pregnancy. The period from weeks 28 to 38 is when fetal movement is most active. After week 38, fetal movement gradually decreases. As the due date approaches, the baby's head descends into the pelvis, often leading to a reduction in the frequency of fetal movement, which is a normal phenomenon. Pregnant women should start tracking fetal movement from week 28. Measure it once in the morning, once in the afternoon, and once in the evening, with each measurement lasting for 1 hour. Pregnant women can sit or lie on their side, placing their hands lightly on their abdomen to feel the movement. Normal fetal movement is 3 to 5 movements per hour. If you are self-monitoring fetal movement, it is recommended to have an ultrasound examination at the hospital for more accurate results.
