How long after fertilization do you know you are pregnant

Patient's question:

I got married last year. Recently, I've been experiencing lower abdominal pain, especially during my period. I'm very worried about it affecting my fertility, and I'm also extremely sensitive to cold and coldness. How long after fertilization can you know if you're pregnant?

Doctor's answer:

If you haven't had your period when you were supposed to and it's been more than 7-10 days, you should consider pregnancy. It's recommended to use early pregnancy test strips. Instead of calculating based on the time of intercourse, clinically, the pregnancy is usually calculated from the first day of the last menstrual period. If the test shows two red lines, it indicates a positive result, meaning there is a possibility of pregnancy. Of course, it's generally best to do a morning urine test for early pregnancy tests. However, you can also go to the hospital to do a blood hCG test 7 days after intercourse. If the test is negative or inconclusive, it could still be pregnancy, but it might be too early to detect. You may need to repeat the early pregnancy test after another 7 days.
