Patient's question:
I got married last year. Recently, I've been experiencing lower abdominal pain, especially during my period. I'm very worried it might affect fertility, and I'm also extremely sensitive to cold and coldness. Can retroverted uterus cause dysmenorrhea?Doctor's answer:
So-called "posterior uterus" refers to a condition where the longitudinal axis of the uterus remains unchanged, but the entire uterus backward. This can easily cause the cervix to be in an upward position, making it difficult for the cervix to immerse in the pool of semen and thus affecting fertility. However, not all posterior uteri cause infertility. Mild cases of posterior uterus are usually asymptomatic, while severe cases can lead to symptoms such as pelvic congestion, excessive menstrual bleeding, difficulty in menstrual discharge, excessive leukorrhea, lower abdominal pain, back pain, rectal fullness, and in some women, even pain or discomfort during intercourse.
