Features: To meet the rapidly developing needs of medicine in China, People's Medical Publishing House decided to publish a series of textbooks tailored to the needs of the eight-year medical education program (hereinafter referred to as the eight-year program textbooks). Medical Immunology was included in this series. In line with the guiding spirit of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health, and the National Higher Medical Education Textbook Construction Research Association, this series of eight-year program textbooks was required to embody the principles of "updating, deepening, and refining." To this end, the Medical Immunology Eight-Year Program Textbook Editorial Committee conducted the following explorations during the textbook development process: 1. Adhering to "updating" in both form and content. 2. Emphasizing "deepening" in the content. 3. In terms of "refining," we emphasized ensuring quality, focusing on key points, conciseness, and practicality, striving to achieve a balance between the precision and depth of the textbook. This textbook is divided into three parts and twenty-seven chapters. In the introduction, it primarily introduces basic concepts and the historical development of immunology, with a focus on elaborating on representative discoveries. In the fundamental immunology section, it clarifies basic theories, reflects the latest advancements, emphasizes key aspects, ensures theoretical depth, and pays attention to the connection with applied issues. It explains the fundamental theories of immunology in a problem-proposing and problem-solving research process, aiming to inspire and guide students' creative thinking. In the clinical immunology section, it addresses the needs of clinical immunology-related diseases by elucidating the main pathogenesis and preventive and therapeutic measures, while also providing a broad overview of new strategies, technological applications, and support from interdisciplinary fields.
