What should be paid attention to when treating leukoplakia of the vulva?

Patient's question:

Patient Gender: Female
Patient Age: 23
I went for a gynecological examination because my recent discharge has been particularly abundant, and it has a bad odor, along with itching in the vaginal area. To my surprise, the examination revealed vulvar leukoplakia. I had never had this condition before, and later, I was prescribed a lot of medication.

Doctor's answer:

Vaginal leukoplakia refers to localized or diffuse white patches on the skin of the female genital area, which can spread to the inner thighs, perineum, and anus but rarely affect the urethral opening or vestibule. Symptoms include itching in the genital area, dry skin, thickening and whitening, loss of elasticity, and even atrophy, ulcers, pain, and burning sensation.
In terms of diet, avoid spicy, stimulating, greasy, and fatty foods such as onions, ginger, garlic, seafood, freshwater fish, large meat, lamb, dog meat, and poultry like chickens, ducks, and geese. Instead, consume more vegetables, fruits, and foods rich in trace elements such as iron, copper, and manganese. Examples include walnuts, sesame seeds, peanuts, mushrooms, tofu, green vegetables, black fungus, carrots, lean meat, pig blood, oysters, abalone, and sea snails.
During treatment, alcohol consumption and the intake of spicy, raw foods like raw garlic and raw onions should be avoided.
