Features: The incidence and mortality rates of malignant tumors in China have significantly increased over the past 20 years. In some major cities in China, malignant tumors have become the leading cause of death, posing a major threat to public health and life. Globally, malignant tumors have also become a primary killer of humans. Both domestically and internationally, substantial human, material, and financial resources have been invested in the research of malignant tumors, encompassing both basic and clinical studies. In recent years, research on malignant tumors has advanced rapidly, including etiology, genetic genes, molecular epidemiology, as well as improvements in traditional surgical, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy methods. Notably, the concept and application of multidisciplinary comprehensive treatment have been proposed, along with the invention and successful clinical practice of new treatment methods and approaches. However, in terms of prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of malignant tumors, revolutionary progress has yet to emerge. The unknown areas and unresolved issues far outnumber the knowledge and problems we have already addressed. Therefore, research on malignant tumors presents immense challenges and difficulties, yet also vast development opportunities and prospects for success. This may be one of the reasons why an increasing number of medical students and life science students are dedicating themselves to the study of malignant tumors. To assist these aspiring young professionals in reviewing and preparing for postgraduate entrance exams, we have compiled this "Essentials for Medical Graduate Entrance Exams Series"—Oncology—for study and reference. This book consists of two main parts: Part One is the content essentials, which primarily organizes the key and essential content that candidates for oncology postgraduate programs should master, based on the textbook Introduction to Oncology, edited by Zhu Xiangzeng and Jiang Guoliang (Fudan University Press, 2005). It also includes some new theoretical and clinical advancements. The italics listed in the book are topics that may be covered in postgraduate entrance exams, hoping to aid in revision. The second part is true and simulated exam questions with answer keys, designed to help candidates understand the exam format and methods, providing a clear path forward.
