Features: Research in language learning has shown that music can help people achieve faster and easier results in language learning. Nursery rhymes have clear rhythms, short sentence structures, pleasant sounds, and are all rhyming. The lyrics are rich in charm, simple to learn, and easy to connect with. Children can unconsciously learn them by listening repeatedly, which greatly benefits their correct pronunciation skills, stimulates their interest in learning, and provides an initial understanding of Western and American culture. It is particularly suitable for preschool children and primary school students who are just beginning to learn English. "Singing Classic English Nursery Rhymes" selects well-known nursery rhymes from English-speaking countries and classifies them according to difficulty levels, allowing children to learn from easy to difficult. Each song in this set is paired with lively and vivid illustrations, clearly marking the vowel sounds in the lyrics, providing target words and example sentences, and also includes diverse and rich activity exercises and movement teaching. Through fun and engaging activities, children can learn subconsciously and naturally memorize the rhymes through humming and singing, creating a relaxed English learning world and boosting their confidence! This book features the following carefully designed elements:
Level-Based Grading System: "Singing Classic English Nursery Rhymes" emphasizes language learning. Therefore, we analyzed the length of the rhymes, vocabulary and sentence structures, difficulty levels of melodies, frequency of sentence patterns, and the number of connected sounds, dividing them into three levels. This allows children to learn progressively and gradually build their confidence.
Avoiding Old Words and Outdated Usage: Many nursery rhymes retain archaic words or outdated expressions due to their long history. To prevent children from learning incorrect usage, which may become deeply ingrained through repeated listening and become difficult to correct later, we have replaced archaic words with modern usage and provided annotations in the activity pages to explain the original expressions.
Vowel Sound Color Coding: Words with the same sound are highlighted in different colors to distinguish them from the text. This helps children clearly understand the phonetic changes of English letters and recognize that different letter combinations can produce the same sounds, thereby better mastering English pronunciation and spelling.
Target Words and Example Sentences: Each song selects three target words, each paired with a practical example sentence and accompanied by humorous illustrations to enhance vocabulary learning and application, deepening children's memory of the rhymes.
Activity Exercises: Each song includes an activity page with fun and engaging activities such as mazes, decoding, word searches, connect-the-dots, and listening exercises. These activities train children in English listening, writing, and reading simultaneously, allowing them to naturally connect with English through play and stimulating their desire to conquer the language, ultimately mastering English.
Movement Teaching: Some songs are paired with movement teaching, suitable for children to move with parents or teachers. Not only do children practice sensory integration, but they can also sing the rhymes and never forget them through interactive activities!
