Patient's question:
All symptoms: Persistent lower abdominal pain and a feeling of heaviness.Onset time and cause: My period started on July 10th, but it usually comes earlier. This time, it hasn't arrived yet! I had sexual intercourse and suspect I might be pregnant.
Treatment history: Never treated.
Help needed: I want to know if I am pregnant.
Doctor's answer:
Common vaginal infections include bacterial vaginosis, trichomoniasis, candidiasis, and atrophic vaginitis.1. Bacterial Vaginosis: Greyish-white discharge with a fishy odor, vaginal burning sensation, and itching.
2. Trichomoniasis: Symptoms include increased discharge, which can be thin and serous, greyish-yellow, or yellowish-green, sometimes mixed with blood. It may also cause dysuria, urinary urgency, or even hematuria.
3. Candidiasis: Typical discharge appears creamy or cottage cheese-like, with severe edema of the vaginal and vestibular mucosa covered by white creamy membranes in spots or patches. These membranes are easily removable, revealing an eroded, red base, or forming ulcers or bruises. In severe cases, labia minora may swell and adhere.
Treatment:
- General Treatment: Actively treat other conditions that may cause vaginal infections and eliminate predisposing factors. Maintain external genital hygiene and dryness, avoid scratching. Abstain from sexual activity during treatment. Avoid spicy or irritating foods.
