Patient's question:
Leukorrhea with blood (brown in color) - what could be the cause?Doctor's answer:
Hello! This situation may be ovulation bleeding, which is caused by a brief and rapid decline in estrogen levels, leading to the shedding of part of the endometrium due to the lack of hormonal support, resulting in vaginal bleeding. It is a normal physiological phenomenon and generally does not require treatment. Ovulation bleeding is usually lighter in volume than menstrual bleeding and lasts no more than seven days. At times, it may also be accompanied by mild lower abdominal pain (left or right side) and a slight increase in leukorrhea.
