The higher the number, the easier the article. The difficulty coefficient of the articles in this book is mostly above 90. It is recommended to read each article twice: the first time for skimming to grasp the main idea; then answer the comprehension questions at the end to check understanding. During the first reading, you can record the reading time and calculate your reading speed based on the word count provided. The second reading should be done with a focus on details, allowing you to fully appreciate the nuances of the text. After reading, it is suggested to review the article and the vocabulary and phrases marked in the annotations, then complete the "Language Consolidation" exercises. The first part of these exercises requires writing the Chinese meaning of words or phrases to reinforce the vocabulary learned. The second part focuses on practicing important sentence patterns from the article. If you don’t understand why certain words were used in the original sentences, that’s okay—the goal is to develop a sense of these patterns, which will become clearer over time.
