Macy’s house became Snoopy’s (dedicated) place to drink root beer. After playing a round of World War I games, he would come to this imaginary "French café" to drown out his imagined loneliness. Macy was extremely warm to him, letting him drink as much root beer as he wanted, touch her hands freely, and even drape his feet on the table like a mob boss day after day. When Macy got angry and couldn’t take it anymore, she called Charlie Brown and asked him to come pick up Snoopy.
When night fell, Snoopy came again, but this time he was turned away—Macy coldly said, "Sorry, the French café is closed." Snoopy and Macy’s honeymoon ended. The proud Lucy was subjected to the ultimate humiliation! While she was lost in her fantasy of a sweet love with Sloth, Snoopy seized the opportunity to kiss her. This made the little queen-like her go into a frenzy. She ran home, turned on the shower, and scrubbed her mouth and body fiercely. Just then, Charlie Brown called her. He said in a surprised tone, "My dog ran home and took a bath by himself!"
