What medications are used to treat cervical erosion

Patient's question:

Two years ago, I was diagnosed with moderate cervical erosion, but I didn't have any discomfort. The doctor prescribed Baofukang Suppositories. Last month, I suddenly started experiencing vulvar itching and pain during intercourse. I went for a check-up and was told I had severe erosion, and the doctor prescribed a bunch of medications, which I started taking. However, there hasn't been any improvement. My TCT test showed no abnormalities.

Doctor's answer:

Hello! The treatment for cervical erosion first requires a cervical smear to rule out precancerous lesions. Then, a pathological examination of cervical secretions should be conducted to identify the specific pathogen causing the condition. If necessary, pathogen culture + drug sensitivity tests can be performed to select appropriate medications for treatment. Medication treatment includes local and systemic approaches. However, for moderate to severe cervical erosion, physical therapy is generally more effective. Examples include laser, microwave, BOM light, and electric burning. But if the patient is not planning to have children, medication treatment should be preferred to avoid adverse consequences. Physical therapy should be performed under the guidance of an experienced gynecologist.
