Features: The "Olympic Subject Competitions for Primary and Secondary Schools" series consists of over 200 varieties, including textbook series, introductory textbooks, practice papers, mock exam papers, intensive textbooks, classic problem-solving series, weekly tests, question compilations, and multi-solution series. This series is compiled by the Editorial Department of Primary and Secondary School Subject Olympiads and is a research outcome of the Beijing Step-by-Step Quality Education Research Institute. Since its publication by the Olympic Press, it has stood out uniquely and is deeply loved by teachers, parents, and students. After significant revisions, re-editions, or rewrites, it has been renamed as "Golden Medal Olympiads" and "Golden Medal Schools," and is now re-published and distributed by Jinghua Publishing House. At this re-publication, sincere gratitude is extended to millions of readers across the country. Primary and Secondary School Subject Olympiads (referred to as "Subject Olympiads") are one of China's most extensive, widely participated, and influential subject competition activities for primary and secondary school students. Subject Olympiads are derived from the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), the International Physics Olympiad (IPHO), the International Chemistry Olympiad (ICHO), and other internationally influential middle school subject competitions that attract millions of young students every year. The reason for such attention lies in the strong innovation, flexibility, and comprehensiveness of Olympiads, as well as their focus on cultivating students' exploration skills and inspiring their innovative awareness—core elements of quality education. This is also the need for future development. Based on years of in-depth research on this activity and a large number of excellent books in this field, the Editorial Department of Primary and Secondary School Subject Olympiads has invited outstanding educators dedicated to this field from all over the country to compile and publish a series of books on mathematics, Chinese, English, physics, chemistry, biology, and information technology, totaling over 200 varieties. In terms of variety, quantity, and quality, our Olympiad books are the most influential among peers both domestically and internationally, and are the most appealing in the hearts of primary and secondary school teachers and students. The compilation purpose and characteristics of the "Golden Medal Olympiads" and "Golden Medal Schools" series are as follows:
1. High: Derived from textbooks but higher than textbooks. Derived from textbooks means it is written in accordance with the new [curriculum standards] of the Ministry of Education; higher than textbooks means it is closely aligned with the competition syllabi of various levels, ensuring comprehensive alignment in content, question types, and ability requirements, fostering interest, developing intelligence, and enhancing skills.
2. Accurate: Scientifically accurate, with a well-structured design. Each book is designed according to the characteristics of the subject, scientifically organized, and follows a step-by-step approach to provide in-depth yet accessible analysis and detailed problem-solving methods.
3. Innovative: The book features novel and engaging question types. It collects the essence of recent Olympiad, middle school, and high school exam questions from both China and abroad, representing the highest level of current Olympiads and reflecting new concepts in curriculum reform, as well as new ideas, methods, and trends in competition question-setting.
4. Selective: Carefully selected examples, challenging yet not obscure, flexible, and achievable. The focus is on generalizing from one example to many, promoting cross-disciplinary learning; it emphasizes multi-solution, multi-variable, and multi-question approaches to problems, with an emphasis on training thinking skills rather than rote memorization, making learning an interest and hobby.
5. Renowned: A gathering of famous teachers and a collection of top competitions. The Editorial Department of Primary and Secondary School Subject Olympiads has invited renowned professors from prestigious universities, special-grade teachers, senior teachers, subject leaders, and famous Olympiad gold medal coaches to contribute.
