Features: Xiaoxi, Wings, and Yuiqi are three children who grew up together since childhood, childhood sweethearts. Xiaoxi is quiet but restless, with an inherent sadness. Wings is rebellious and lacks confidence in life. Yuiqi is a very pragmatic girl. There are indescribable emotions between them; they like her, and she likes them too. They are inseparable, and even Xiaoxi and Wings love each other. Yes, love. It’s as if everything is just a dream. Xiaoxi is no longer innocent, so he must face the death that follows love. This is somewhat cruel, yet unavoidable. Everything is unavoidable, and everything is related to people. He continues to wander the streets of the city; he also has an older sister he has lost contact with and never met. This is the best outcome and choice. Just like Xiaoxi returns to his painting, choosing to walk and leave. Youthful and individualistic, yet warm, the overall tone is melancholic but not hurtful. It’s a realistic life, yet a little rebellious and unconventional, deeply portraying the unease and impulses of human nature. Is it the process of growing up, or just a fleeting moment, like fireworks that bloom and fade. We are just young, and we are living.
Of the two women Xiaoxi truly loved, he only had the ability to say "I love you" once: Xiaoxi turned his head to look at Yuiqi under the moonlight. He looked at her young face with a smile, warm from the heat, tiny sweat beads on her nose. Her long eyelashes trembled slightly with her fragrant breath, and her chest rose and fell rhythmically. How wonderful the night was! She lay beside him, sleeping so peacefully, sweet and quiet. She wore a white dress, and Xiaoxi looked at her innocence, like a white flower blooming under the moonlight, blooming in the warmest depths of Xiaoxi. Xiaoxi watched her like this, watching her. Gently sniffing her hair scent. She turned to look at his eyes, his eyes as deep as the night sky. Under the starry sky, Xiaoxi saw a youthful and beautiful face. A delicate, pinkish melon-seed face, willow eyebrows, jade-like nose, and vermilion lips, with long eyelashes slightly closed. This was the perfect body of a beautiful woman, flowing with faint moonlight. Her dark, elegant hair spread beneath her, shimmering with the glow of the night. In the gentle sound of her breathing, her eyes, which were slightly closed, opened. Those beautiful starry eyes sparkled with captivating light, as beautiful and moving as the night sky, so deep and long. She smiled silently at him. He was startled; her gaze was enchanting, her appearance dreamlike and wonderful, radiating an exciting youthful charm. He couldn’t help but kiss her. How wonderful it was! He felt as if surrounded by warm water, layer by layer, drowning his mouth and nose, his heart and lungs. Not far away, fireworks were blooming—sometimes far, sometimes close, one after another. Silent, lonely, blooming. The sound was hollow and helpless. Xiaoxi gently held Yuiqi in his arms, sniffing her hair and body scent. Yuiqi’s body was soft and fragrant, like a night-blooming crape myrtle at midnight. Xiaoxi didn’t know how to pluck it. The long years of enduring loneliness made him unsure how his skin could touch hers, how his limbs could intertwine, only his lips met hers, extracting the midnight fragrance from her deep heart. They suddenly realized that they had been engaged in an endless competition. They craved and rejected, but now they had both lost. When their bodies were pressed tightly together, because they had both given up on the winning and losing they had been holding onto, they found temporary peace. A woman’s body in the midnight was so cold, Xiaoxi couldn’t help but tremble. Fireworks bloomed one after another. Empty, empty. Happiness is for two people; what is left for the third is only a memory.
Wings loved racing and gave up his love for Yuiqi to pursue it. Eventually, in a street race, he was involved in a car accident and became disabled. Only then did he truly understand that what he needed to cherish in life were life, love, and friendship.
Xiaoxi loved painting and grew up with Wings and Yuiqi, deeply in love with Yuiqi. To raise tuition, Xiaoxi kept painting portraits on the streets but insisted on living an idealistic life, refusing to bow to reality. During a body-painting introduction, he met Night. Night had a troubled past, and Xiaoxi vaguely saw the shadow of an old lover in him. In the bustling metropolis, amidst filth and ugliness, only a few friendships and loves remained pure. Xiaoxi kept urging Wings to give up racing and live a good life with Yuiqi, but in the process of comforting and accompanying Yuiqi, he gradually developed deeper feelings for her. He finally gathered the courage to confess his love to Yuiqi, but at that moment, Wings was about to marry her.
