How is cervical hypertrophy treated?

Patient's question:

How should cervical hypertrophy be treated? The doctor recommended removing it. Will it lead to changes?

Doctor's answer:

Electrocautery Treatment: Apply the electrocautery head to the eroded surface to cause tissue coagulation, forming a scab. The scab will begin to fall off after about two weeks, and wound healing typically takes 6 to 8 weeks. The procedure should be performed 3 to 5 days after the menstrual period. It is contraindicated in cases of adnexitis. After treatment, leukorrhea may temporarily increase or bleeding may occur. If bleeding is significant, use sterile gauze to compress the wound and remove it after 24 hours. A disadvantage is that scarring may sometimes lead to cervical stenosis.
