Features: Based on the "English Curriculum Standards" issued by the Ministry of Education, the newly published junior high school English textbook "New Target" by the People's Education Press has the following key features: Authentic material selection, adoption of the Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) model, integration of topics, communicative functions, and structures, forming a complete, progressive, and life-oriented learning program. Compared to previous textbooks, the greatest differences of this series are: a larger vocabulary, more varied sentence patterns, more grammar points, and challenging passages. This poses certain difficulties for both teachers and students. To address these issues, our press has invited educational researchers from Beijing and Zhejiang, as well as advanced English teachers from new textbook experimental bases, to meticulously compile the "Comprehensive Guide to Vocabulary, Sentence Patterns, Grammar, Translation, and Comprehensive Skills."
Vocabulary: Develops multi-meaning and multi-form words, synonyms, near-synonyms, and differentiation, guiding students to shift from "I have to memorize" to "I want to memorize," transforming passive learning into active engagement.
Sentence Patterns: Organizes and analyzes complex sentence structures, simplifying them to make learning easier and continuously stimulating students' enthusiasm for learning.
Grammar: In an environment where English is not acquired naturally, without systematic and scientific grammar guidance, mere imitation of language will not yield good results. When learning English, we should fully recognize the foundational, hierarchical, scientific, comprehensive, and developmental nature of language goals. Only by laying a solid foundation can we achieve steady progress. In this section, we provide necessary supplementary explanations for key grammar points in the textbook.
Translation: Bridges the gap between language input and output, integrating language knowledge, skills, attitudes, learning strategies, and cultural literacy, effectively helping students assess their comprehensive language proficiency.
In summary, we are confident that a comprehensive supplementary book will be well-received by students, fully reflecting their strong desire and enthusiasm for learning tasks.
Lastly, the author would like to add that in recent years, multimedia network technology has entered schools as an advanced teaching tool, demonstrating unparalleled advantages such as vividness, aesthetics, expressive and engaging visuals. This is one side of its strength, but it also has an unavoidable drawback: the high cost of multimedia. Many regions and students lack the financial means to afford it. Even in areas where multimedia is accessible, some students exhibit (restlessness) or a lack of effort when using it, even deviating from their learning track. In contrast, the paper-based supplementary book we provide is characterized by rich content, focused objectives, affordability, portability, ease of use, comparability, and accessibility. It can not only serve as a helpful companion but also as a reliable guide to accompany you on your learning journey.
