Features: Aesthetic literacy can be considered a relatively lacking or weak aspect in one's entire growth and education journey. Perhaps it is because, under conditions of insufficient resources, "making do" often outweighs "pursuing excellence." As a result, we have been surviving and growing in rather strained environments, long lacking in nourishment from beauty, and gradually, we have lost awareness of what beauty truly is. With the improvement of economic conditions and the increase in opportunities to travel abroad, while observing others and reflecting on ourselves, we suddenly realize that "beauty" is also one of the elements of quality of life. Especially in the era of symbolic consumption, the efforts of designers are mostly focused on finding better codes to convey richer and more diverse messages, and "beauty" has become a topic of shared concern for both designers and consumers. The author has long been dedicated to studying Japanese design aesthetics, and now appropriately organizes and introduces examples of Japan's unique aesthetic perspective. This not only provides a reference for design professionals in their work but also serves as a guide for general consumers to appreciate and savor beautiful things. The underlying principles contained within may also be an indispensable form of wisdom for us in how we conduct ourselves and interact with the world. I highly recommend it.
