Patient's question:
How is second-degree cervical erosion treated? Have you not given birth yet?Doctor's answer:
Cervical erosion of second degree is equivalent to moderate. In normal people, the cervix is round, with 12 o'clock positions clockwise around it. After giving birth, there may be a tear at 3 o'clock or 9 o'clock. If a person has not given birth, the cervix remains round. A normal round cervix has an opening called the external os of the vagina, with a diameter of 2.5 centimeters. The erosion area extends from this central opening outward. If the erosion covers 2/3 of the area, it is classified as second degree; if it covers 1/3, it is first degree; and if it exceeds 2/3, it is severe. How is it treated? First, a cervical smear should be performed to rule out cervical lesions, and then medication can be used.If medication is not preferred, physical therapy methods can be used, such as liquid nitrogen freezing or laser treatment. Generally, if there is no excessive discharge, medication alone may suffice. If the condition is severe, physical therapy is recommended.
