Does severe cervical erosion affect fertility?

Patient's question:

Please ask, I have severe cervical erosion. If I want to get pregnant, which physical therapy would be better? Does it not affect fertility? How often should I follow up after treatment? Thank you, doctor!

Doctor's answer:

Cervical erosion can cause infertility. The texture and secretion volume of cervical mucus directly affect whether sperm can pass through the cervix and enter the uterine cavity. Under normal circumstances, during the ovulation period, under the influence of estrogen, cervical mucus contains a higher water content, has a thin texture, and facilitates sperm penetration. When cervical erosion occurs, especially moderate to severe cervical erosion, cervical secretions significantly increase in volume, become viscous, and contain a large number of white blood cells. This has an adverse effect on sperm motility and can also hinder sperm from entering the uterine cavity, thereby affecting conception. Severe erosion, of course, has an even greater impact on pregnancy.
