1. Objective Questions - Listening Comprehension (Questions 1-25): In the past, this section included several speeches and dialogues. In the new test, only "speeches" or narrative materials are used, with dialogues significantly reduced or even eliminated. Moreover, the listening materials in the new HSK Advanced Examination are longer and faster-paced, undoubtedly increasing the test's difficulty.
2. Comprehensive Expression - Part 2: According to the requirements of the new HSK Advanced Examination syllabus, this section focuses on word meaning differentiation and the accuracy and appropriateness of language expression. The original requirement was to test both real and functional words. However, the new test now emphasizes real words while largely omitting functional words (to help with reviewing important functional words, this book retains only a small portion of them).
To address these changes in the new HSK Advanced Examination, we have compiled this Comprehensive HSK Advanced Mock Test Collection. Some students may find the mock tests in this collection challenging. And yes, that is exactly the intended effect. Our reasoning is that if the questions are too simple, they may not provide enough "real-world practice" for candidates taking the advanced exam, limiting the potential for improvement.
