Patient's question:
I have had my period twice a month for over a year. I have been married for a year but have not been pregnant yet. During this time, I have taken many medications to regulate my period. Some doctors said it was due to fallopian tube bleeding and prescribed FertilePlus, which I took for several months, but it didn't help. Is this condition preventing me from getting pregnant? I really hope to have a baby. Please give me some good advice.Additionally, I have had an ultrasound which showed that my uterus is smaller than normal, but other results were normal. I also had an estrogen test, which was normal, but I still have a period every half month.
Doctor's answer:
Hello: This may be ovulation bleeding. In this case, whether it will have a certain impact on fertility is not certain.
Below is some information about ovulation bleeding.
During the mid-cycle, i.e., the ovulation period, due to a temporary decline in estrogen levels, the endometrium loses hormonal support and experiences partial shedding, leading to regular vaginal bleeding, which is known as ovulation bleeding. In traditional Chinese medicine, it is referred to as "intermenstrual bleeding."
Treatment
1. Western medicine treatment: Diethylstilbestrol 0.25–0.5 mg/day, starting 3 days before ovulation and stopping 2–3 days after the bleeding stops.
2. Traditional Chinese medicine treatment: Liuwei Dihuang Wan, Gujing Wan, and Xuefu Zhuyu Wan.
Prevention and Care
1. Pay attention to menstrual and postpartum health care, maintain external genital hygiene, and prevent pelvic infection.
2. Keep a calm mood and avoid excessive stress.
