Features: In the 1950s, while studying at the Central Conservatory of Music, Yang Baozhi was a student of Mr. Ma Siping, the then President, a renowned violinist and composer. His musical career was deeply influenced by Mr. Ma. Unfortunately, although he excelled academically, he received unfair treatment during political movements upon graduation. In the 1980s, after I took over as President of the Central Conservatory of Music, the institution decided to transfer him back to teach there. His diligent and innovative spirit left a lasting impression on me. Over the past nearly fifty years, he has tirelessly explored the "nationalization" of the violin: namely, studying how to interpret the essence of China's thousands of years of accumulated traditional musical culture into violin repertoire that is easily accepted by modern audiences and mastered by the international music community. At the same time, he has researched how to perform these pieces better, reflecting our national style while aligning with international standards. To this day, many of his compositions have been performed and recorded both domestically and internationally, receiving praise and achieving remarkable results. I believe that this collection, which embodies half a century of his dedication, "Chinese Violin Solos," will certainly be appreciated and loved by everyone.
