In the 1980s, he was involved in welcoming General Secretary Hu Yaobang to the UK from London and participated in the preparatory work for Queen Elizabeth's visit to China. During his tenure in Chicago, USA, he visited numerous cities across nine states in his consular district, gained an in-depth understanding of American society, made friends with people from all walks of life, and promoted China's achievements in reform and opening up. This book uses time as the longitude and events as the latitude to record the unforgettable people and stories from the author's career as a diplomatic officer, especially the joys and hardships of being a diplomatic courier.
