Features: This book includes the principles and usage methods of PSpice8.0, Multisim2001, and Protel99SE, the working principles of programmable logic devices, detailed explanations of MAXplusII and QuartusII, and key points and examples of the hardware description language VerilogHDL. The book emphasizes fundamentals, uses up-to-date materials, presents content in an accessible manner, and is practical. It can serve as a textbook for students in electronic, electrical, and information engineering disciplines at universities and colleges, as well as a self-study reference for engineering professionals in related fields.
[Preface] This book is part of the "11th Five-Year Plan" for engineering programs in electrical engineering at ordinary universities. The technology of Electronic Design Automation (EDA) is advancing rapidly, and software such as PSpice, EWB, and Protel is constantly being upgraded. Therefore, based on the original book "Principles and Applications of EDA" published in 2001, we have revised and rewritten this second edition. The second edition maintains the style of combining theory and practice, introducing the usage methods of various simulation software and the basic applications of programmable logic devices in a step-by-step manner. The book is divided into two parts: Part 1 covers electronic circuit design, simulation, and PCB layout, while Part 2 focuses on the fundamentals of Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) design.
Part 1 consists of four chapters: Chapter 1 introduces PSpice8.0, Chapter 2 introduces Multisim2001, Chapter 3 introduces Protel99SE, and Chapter 4 introduces PCB99SE. Part 2 also consists of four chapters: Chapter 5 covers the classification and principles of programmable logic devices, Chapter 6 provides detailed explanations of MAXplusII, Chapter 7 introduces the QuartusII development software, and Chapter 8 explains the programming methods of the VerilogHDL hardware description language.
The book is comprehensive, uses fresh material, and is clearly written. It can serve as a textbook and reference for students in electronic and electrical engineering disciplines at universities and colleges, as well as an introductory reading and software operation manual for engineering professionals in the electronics industry. Readers can combine and select relevant content based on their needs. The content of the book has been developed into multimedia teaching materials and will be provided free of charge to universities and colleges that adopt it as a textbook.
