Features: Tai Chi is a renowned martial arts style celebrated both in China and abroad. In the past, Yang Luchan set up a martial arts competition in Beijing and went three days without facing a worthy opponent. Finally, he drew a tie with Dong Haichuan, and from then on, Tai Chi gained worldwide fame. Later, the Yang and Chen families widely spread Tai Chi techniques and, based on them, developed various Tai Chi styles such as the Wu, Wu, and Sun styles. If you add other Tai Chi styles like the Chang, Liu, and Zhao Pu styles, the entire Tai Chi system can be described as vast and magnificent. Martial artists from each style have dedicated themselves to researching, inheriting, developing, and spreading Tai Chi, each with their own masters and unique techniques. The numerous Tai Chi practitioners have expanded its influence, making it one of the most representative martial arts styles in China. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the State Physical Culture and Sports Commission vigorously promoted Tai Chi and introduced simplified Tai Chi routines, making it a popular sport for people of all ages. It has contributed to improving people's health. As a fitness exercise, Tai Chi has gained widespread recognition. However, many academic questions about Tai Chi remain unresolved and continue to be of interest to scholars: 1. The origins of Tai Chi; 2. The relationship between the Three Internal Family Styles; 3. The combat effectiveness of Tai Chi; 4. The training methods of Tai Chi. Fortunately, I have received the transmission of the Wuxing Gate of the Zhongnan School and have been deeply influenced by the martial arts of my school. Without hesitation, I will introduce the 108-posture Tai Chi Long Fist passed down by our school. By describing its origins, principles, and combat techniques, I aim to provide an alternative approach to studying Tai Chi. The purpose is also to help the world recognize the depth and breadth of Chinese martial arts.
