Attempt Collection ( 《Leaving the Country Collection》)

Author: Hu Shih
Publisher:
Publish Date: 1999-10-01
Features: Hu Shih was one of the pioneers of vernacular literature—new literature—in modern China. This book is an attempt at vernacular poetry by the author after advocating for vernacular writing, hence the title of the poetry collection, The Collected Poems of a Trial. The vernacular poems in this collection express the author's own thoughts and emotions in modern vernacular, without using classical language or plagiarizing the words of previous poets. Indeed, it can be named "new literature."
