How to treat necrospermia

Patient's question:

Hello doctor, I would like to consult about how to treat asthenozoospermia. I did a semen analysis at the hospital and found that the number of dead sperm in my semen is relatively high. The doctor said I have asthenozoospermia. Does this affect fertility? What treatment methods should I use? How should asthenozoospermia be treated?

Doctor's answer:

Hello, azoospermia refers to a condition where multiple semen analyses show no abnormal sperm morphology, and the sperm density is within the normal range, but the majority of sperm are dead. Under normal circumstances, more than 70% of viable sperm should remain in the semen within 1 hour of ejaculation. If dead sperm exceed 40%, it can affect fertility. An increase in dead sperm caused by improper examination methods or deviation from normal standards does not fall under this condition.
Prolonged abstinence, excessively high or low environmental temperatures for sperm, varicocele of the seminal vesicles, inflammatory infections of the reproductive tract, immune suppression, endocrine disorders, as well as smoking and alcohol intoxication, can all inhibit sperm production.
