Miracle. Wisdom. Prophecy

Author: Jesus
Publisher:
Publish Date: 1998-01-01
Features: This small book is based on the four Gospels of the New Testament, but it is not a Gospel itself. Jesus did not write any books during his lifetime, even if he had (hypothetical mood!), none of them have been passed down to us. The only way we can understand Jesus' life and thoughts is through the Gospels. The four Gospels were written in Greek and were completed in the late 1st century AD. They are the earliest manuscripts that have survived since the 4th century.
In the field of biblical scholarship, it is generally believed that the Gospels contain a mix of historical facts and fiction. The time of their composition is not far from the era of Jesus' life. Even if the authors did not live with Jesus himself, they lived with his disciples and may have been members among the disciples. Of course, the idea that the Gospels were written solely by individual authors is clearly naive. They undoubtedly represent the collective creation of believers of that time. Beyond this, we cannot find any other more credible sources.
Of the four Gospels, the first three (Matthew, Mark, and Luke) are known as the "Synoptic Gospels" due to their similar wording and repeated plots. Some believe this is because the authors of the three Gospels used similar oral stories and teachings when writing. Others suggest that the three Gospels were written by referencing and cross-referencing each other.
