Features: This book is a culmination of decades of effort by Huang Bajing and is published by Fujian People's Publishing House. It is divided into two volumes and is considered one of China's first comprehensive history of ci poetry. The entire work systematically traces the origins, development, maturation, flourishing, transformation, decline, and revival of ci poetry, collecting over 10,000 works by more than 1,000 ci poets from the Tang Dynasty to the late Qing Dynasty. Compared to previous works on ci poetry, this book highlights folk ci and elevates the status of female ci poets in the history of the genre. Notably, the author has collected a vast number of Ming Dynasty ci works, filling the gaps in academic research on Ming Dynasty ci that existed in the past. In addition to this book, the book Perspectives on Southeast China: An Integrated Study of Cultural Economy, edited by Professors Chen Zhiping and Zhan Shichuang of Xiamen University and published by Xiamen University Press, also won the award.
