Features: In the 21st century, the progress of socialist construction in China will make significant strides. In the 21st century, China's market economy will become more prosperous and regulated. In the 21st century, the composition of various forms of ownership will take on new patterns. These economic changes will inevitably affect society. Moreover, the economy itself is also a part of society! In the 21st century, China's social structure will become more balanced and rational; China's social transformation will become faster and more orderly. All of this requires the sociology field to observe and examine with a century-long perspective, and to reflect and refine these changes in sociology textbooks. Sociology has the obligation to focus on and reflect the times, but no right to ignore or detach from it. As the times move forward and practice develops, our work in compiling textbooks cannot afford the slightest relaxation. The times call for new textbooks. Practice spurs us to continuously innovate and compile new textbooks. During the compilation process, everyone worked diligently, striving for excellence, while writing, teaching, gathering feedback, and revising. As for whether we have achieved what people often call "brand-new," we dare not claim it, nor do we have such lofty aspirations. We are simply seeking novelty, not necessarily achieving it entirely. We sincerely hope for guidance from our peers, as we will continue to compile, publish, and strive.
