Critical awareness

Author: (Swiss) Georges Blin
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2002-03-01
Features: This is a "panoramic and manifesto-style" work about the Geneva School. The book is divided into three parts. The first part sequentially studies the ways in which 16 critics pursue the original object of their criticism, "I think" (i.e., "consciousness"); the second part theoretically clarifies various concepts of critical consciousness and proposes the author's own methodology. The two parts complement each other and essentially summarize the critical methods and principles of the Geneva School. Additionally, the book includes two additional articles by Blin, based on the 1993 Chinese edition, as supplements to the original work.
