Features: A rich, comprehensive, and practical music dictionary, serving as an invaluable guide for every music professional and enthusiast. It can not only provide answers to your questions and guidance through confusion but also be casually consulted to enhance knowledge and gain insights. However, a single-volume dictionary has limited space, making it challenging to offer both systematic global knowledge and easily accessible reference material. The Collins Music Encyclopedia, on which this book is based, indeed excels in this regard. This is a medium-sized dictionary of music and musicians. The editorial policy of this book focuses on medium and short entries while also including longer ones. During the compilation process, apart from correcting errors and supplementing missing entries in the Collins Encyclopedia of Music, over a hundred new entries on musicians were added. Most of the entries on Korean, Japanese, and Indian musicians, as well as many Soviet composers, renowned contemporary conductors, pianists, violinists, and singers, were added during this process. The materials collected for supplementing new content were compiled by the end of 1987.
