Features: Ji Yun (1724–1805), styled Xiaolan, styled Shiyun, was a famous literary figure of the Qianlong era in the Qing Dynasty. He served as the chief compiler of the Siku Quanshu (Complete Collection of the Four Treasuries). In his later years, he compiled Yuewei Caotang Biaozhuan from the remnants of his work, which is rich in content and elegant in language. Although it contains much advocacy of feudal morals and the doctrine of karma, it still holds reference value for textual research, identification of cultural artifacts, and interpretation of literary meanings. Many chapters use the voices of ghosts and spirits to criticize injustice.
